Ministry

Beauty 4 Ashes Development Foundation is a UK based charity that partners with churches and community based organizations locally and globally, in restoring disregarded communities, through the ministry of Christ-Centered Community Development.

Sometimes this disregard is reflected in the development process, subduing and bringing into bondage those from ‘poor’ communities, whose voices we misappropriate, treat unjustly and often despise and reject. In doing so, it may be said, that the outworking of this disregard for God the Father, is disregard towards the fatherless, and in this blurring of God’s truth, we disregard love of our neighbour.

Jesus, was well acquainted with this disregard, as we read in Isaiah 53:1-3: For he grew up before him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground; he had no form or majesty that we should look at him, and no beauty that we should desire him. He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

This ministry is inspired by the seven fold ministry of the Holy Spirit ― the third person of the triune God. Spiritually, seven [ Sheba ] a cardinal number symbolic of completeness and divine perfection, speaks of plenitude of the holy spirits power, and of his manifold operations. Jesus’ ministry begins with the prophetic announcement taken from (Isaiah 61:1-11), “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me” with an earlier illumination of the activities of this sevenfold ministry of the spirit in (Isaiah 11:1-5)

Values

These seven operations of the spirit, shape our values and we believe, constitute the work of the Holy Spirit [ Ruach ] ―who leads and guides us into all truth. Likewise, evidence of the fruit of the spirit, includes love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against these there is no law. Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom].

We cannot have a conversation about justice anywhere without beginning at the cross of Jesus. We believe that seeking justice, begins with us seeking God, who is justice [ Tzedakah / Misphat ]. Therefore, Beautiful Feet proclaim this message of freedom from captivity of poverty into the abundant life of Jesus Christ― our Jubilee. That is the good news of the gospel.

For I, the Lord, love justice;
I hate robbery for burnt offering;
I will direct their work in truth,
And will make with them an everlasting covenant. (Isaiah 61:7-8)

The goal of our ministry is to provide quality training, discipleship, and resources to equip those working in the field of community development grounded in the gospel. The foundation offers a range of initiatives and courses that will help in building the confidence and capacity of those called to the ministry of community development.
